For several decades the Ateliers Dinand have been associated with the spirit of avant-garde which renewed the repertory of the forms and materials bottle manufacture.
To the traditional puffed up crystal bottles of the 19th century, which distinguished to each other by famous “labels”, were to succeed, during first half of the 20th century, bottles out of glass industrially pressed and moulded. EXPERIENCE By associating glass with other materials such as the galvanized plastic (Calandre de Paco Rabanne), the Surlyn resin (Obsession de Calvin Klein), or Nylon (Opium de Yves SAINT LAURENT), the Ateliers Dinand dared unthinkable, the iconoclast gesture. By the audacious appropriation of new materials and state-of-the-art technologies, a new stage in the history of perfume bottles began… these creations became in a few decades great classics. COMPLICITY Many bottles, among the most remarkable drawn by the Ateliers Dinand, were born thanks to a spontaneous complicity between a “couturier” and our designers. Two of the most beautiful examples are, undoubtedly, the conception of the Obsession bottle for Calvin Klein and more recently the bottle, perfectly balanced between tradition and modernity, of the famous American dressmaker VERA WANG, rewarded for its design at the FIFI’s AWARDS 2004 in New York. SYNERGY OF COMPETENCES Between “juice” and the bottle, osmosis is materialized through a shape, whose function, well beyond the concept of container, must reveal one single intimacy, a dream which will cause the purchase. The Ateliers Dinand never forget that behind any dream, exists a technical and economic reality that one should not neglect. For that the Ateliers Dinand work in close cooperation with all the suppliers: perfumers, glassmakers, plasturgists, printers, cardboard makers… All competences, essential to the entrusted projects, are gathered around our creative team. |
